Spireites stunned by Magpies' stoppage time turnaround

Notts County snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on Saturday as two injury-time goals saw them beat Chesterfield 3-2 at the Technique Stadium.

Spireites looked set for three points under caretaker boss John Dungworth but the Magpies stunned the hosts with the last-gasp double.

Cal Roberts hit the post for Notts County early on but the visitors went in front on 21 minutes as Ben Turner headed towards goal from a corner and Enzio Boldewijn tapped home on the line.

Spireites replied with Curtis Weston's strike being well saved by Sam Slocombe, but they got level on 33 minutes as Jonathan Smith found space on the edge of the penalty area and drilled home into the corner of the net.

Slocombe was then called up on again before the break as he turned away Jordan Cropper's strike.

Spireites keeper Corey Addai was in action early in the second-half as Roberts forced him into a save, before Tom Denton and Tyler Denton combined for the latter to fire over the top from ten yards out for the hosts

But the pair combined again with 15 minutes left to put Chesterfield in front, this time Tyler Denton supplying Tom Denton with a cross which was headed home.

However, Notts would produce their sucker-punch in stoppage time, as first Ruben Rodrigues headed home from a free-kick, then, with seconds to go, Kyle Wooton got his head to a Roberts free-kick to secure the points.
