Spireites on the spot again to win Trophy tie

Chesterfield were once again masters of the penalty spot as they overcame Boston United on Wednesday night to progress to the third round of the FA Trophy.

Having fallen behind just after half-time to a header from Scott Garner following a corner, Spireites levelled with 15 minutes to go when Jak McCourt's corner was flicked on by Haydn Hollis and into the top corner of the net.

With no extra-time, the game went straight to penalties, Chesterfield netted through Laurence Maguire, Joe Rowley, McCourt and finally Tom Whelan, which coupled with a save from keeper Dylan Wharton and a miss from former Spireite Connor Dimaio meant the visitors progress to face an away tie at Aldershot Town in round three on February 6.
