SATURDAY ROUND-UP: Rams and Spireites held, Alfreton hit four

Derby County were held to a second successive 0-0 draw on the road as they couldn't break down Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances throughout, the Rams couldn't break their hosts down and had to make do with a point.

Chesterfield, meanwhile, were 2-0 up at Notts County thanks to goals from Liam Mandeville and Akwasi Asante but were pegged back by a brace inside four minutes from Macauley Langstaff just after the hour mark.

Alfreton Town secured their first win of the season in style, easing past Southport 4-0 at the Impact Arena in the National League North.

Bailey Hobson put the Reds in front and Dayle Southwell and Matt Preston had them three up at half-time, before Southwell's second rounded things off in the second-half.

There was a defeat for Buxton, however, as they went down 2-0 at Hereford for what was their first loss of the season.

In the NPL Premier Division, Belper Town earned their first point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to last season's play-off finalists Warrington Town.

Luke Mangham put the Nailers in front from the spot on the half-hour mark but Sean Williams' volley levelled things on the stroke of half-time.

Ben Middleton and Jordan Buckley saw red in the second-half to leave each side with ten men, and the points would be shared.

It was another bad day at the office for Matlock Town, as they were beaten 2-0 at Morpeth Town thanks to Liam Noble's wonder strike in the first-half and a scrambled second - credited as a Ryan Qualter own goal - doubling the lead in the second-half.

In the SPL Premier Central, Jamie Ward's stunning goal got Ilkeston Town level after 31 minutes, six minutes after Robbie Bunn had volleyed Redditch United in front.

Ilkeston's Ben O'Hanlon was sent off with 20 minutes to go and with the Robins on top, but United couldn't find a way to capitalise in front of 639 at the Microlise New Manor Ground.

Mickleover had a long trip to Suffolk to face Leiston but returned empty-handed after losing 3-1, Rhys Dolan with the visitors' only goal.

In the UCL Premier North, Heanor Town returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win at Sherwood Colliery, second-half strikes from Jamie Sleigh with a penalty, Lewis Rourke and Raife Poplar doing the damage.

There was FA Cup action too, with Long Eaton United running out 4-1 winners at home to Quorn thanks to goals from James Taylor, Danny Gordon and a Rod Orlando-Young double, all after Paddy Webb had put Quorn in front early on.

Glossop North End made it four 1-0 wins out of four games this season as they saw off hosts Sheffield FC in the FA Cup, Harry Freedman's fourth minute goal enough to see them through.

The draw for the first qualifying round of the FA Cup will be made on Monday.
