REPORT: Belper Town flatten Frickley in style
Belper Town scored three first-half goals as they ultimately eased to a comfortable win at Frickley Athletic on Tuesday night.
The Nailers led 3-0 inside 21 minutes, adding a fourth in second-half to take the three points in West Yorkshire.
The opener came on nine minutes when Steve McDonnell was released in on goal and finished well to put Belper in front.
It was then 2-0 eight minutes later when McDonnell turned creator this time, his cross met by Sam Wright at close range.
And three minutes later the game was as gooas over as Craig Nelthorpe's free-kick from out wide found the head of Danny South who nodded in the third.
Frickley responded well after the break and put Belper under plenty of pressure without success, that until South brought down Athletic captain Jonny Margetts in the penalty area and the home skipper was able to pick himself to net the spot kick just after the hour mark.
Nailers keeper Leigh Overton pulled off a pair of fine saves to keep their lead intact, which paid off on 75 minutes as Belper got their fourth goal, Charlie Dawes' powerful free-kick pushed away by the goalkeeper but sub Steve Ridley on hand to net the rebound and secure the points.
