PREVIEW: Spireites look to secure back-to-back wins over Moors
Chesterfield travel to the West Midlands tonight to face the same team they beat 1-0 at the Technique Stadium just three days previous.
The game will played behind closed doors, however, supporters are able purchase a stream provided by Solihull Moors FC.
Jimmy Shan’s side sit 17th in the National League, one place behind the Spireites but on the same number of points. A win for either side could see them rise as high as eighth in the table.
Joe Sbarra - The Lichfield-born midfielder started his career in the academy at West Bromwich Albion before moving to Burton Albion where he signed first team forms in 2017. Sbarra made his debut at the age of 18 and went on to make 49 appearances for the Brewers, scoring once. He was loaned out to the Moors last season and made six appearances before joining on a permanent basis ahead of this season.
Tom Whelan scored the only goal in Saturday’s game which saw Chesterfield continue their unbeaten run under James Rowe. The victory was the Spireites’ first against Solihull Moors with two defeats and two draws previously against the West Midlands outfit.
James Rowe will be forced to make at least one change due to George Carline receiving a red card at the weekend. New loan signings Marcus Dinanga and Jack Clarke, signed from Stevenage and Aston Villa respectively on Tuesday, are eligible to make their debuts.
Akwasi Asante’s Thoughts:
This week the Spireites’ number nine spoke to the press ahead of the clash against his former club.
He said: "They're a good team. It might be a bit of a different game [to Saturday's] as they're at home, we will see. I enjoyed my time there, it was the start of my professional career really. I have nothing but happy memories at Solihull.
"I'm enjoying my football, that's the most important thing. Scoring goals and not conceding, you can't ask for much more. I'm loving my time here so far."
