NPL teams face further wait for return to league action

Derbyshire's Northern Premier League sides will have to wait a little longer to return to competitive action - unless they are still in the FA Trophy.

The NPL have announced that league fixtures scheduled for this weekend and next Tuesday (8th) will be postponed after talks took place between member clubs, with many of them situated in areas covered by tier three of the government's system for COVID-19 restrictions, meaning fans wouldn't be able to attend.

However, three FA Trophy first round ties involving NPL clubs from Derbyshire - Buxton v City of Liverpool, Coleshill v Matlock Town and Hitchin Town v Mickleover FC - will be allowed to take place on Tuesday night.

A decision is then expected as to whether league games scheduled for Saturday, December 12 will then take place.
