New boy Baldock gives Rams all three points
Hull City 0
Derby County 1
Sam Baldock struck the winner on his Derby County debut to give the Rams a much-needed first win of the season at Hull City on Wednesday night.
Baldock pounced to net the rebound after Lee Buchanan's strike had been fumbled by keeper Matt Ingram, the goal enough to secure the points for a Derby side who will now hope to push on and boost morale further amid continued off-field issues affecting the club.
Kamil Jozwiak struck a post for Derby early on after being found by Nathan Byrne's long ball, then Ingram denied Ravel Morrison his first Rams league goal.
Baldock's moment arrived just short of the hour mark to send the visiting fans into ecstasy and the Rams then defended well - marshalled by experienced defenders Curtis Davies and debutant Phil Jagielka - and held out to take the win.
