From the editor: We'll be back in the summer...

DerbyshireFootball.com had to take something of a sabbatical during the second-half of the season due to me frankly having far too much on with work and family!

Apologies for this. The site was attracting good audiences and all the submissions received, or permissions to use from various sources, were hugely appreciated.

It's typical that since regular updates were appearing, so many of our teams have been winning promotions and league titles! Congratulations to all - you've done Derbyshire football proud. Similarly, hard luck to the likes of Derby County who are dropping down a level - fingers crossed you'll be back stronger.

I've kept the results and fixtures pages updated (and people have kept looking at them, thankfully) and every team down to step five has it's full playing record for the season listed under the relevant tabs at the top of the page if you wanted to see all the stats in one place.

I'm hoping to revive things in the summer when the new season starts and the relevant team pages/sections will be updated as league allocations are finalised, plus one or two of the sections might have different looks to them. I'm keen to make the site a 'one stop shop' for as much related to football in the county as I can, rather than users having to navigate around numerous websites to find information.

It's still my ambition to have a podcast up and running one day too but for now, the two of us hoping to do it, Derbyshire Media Company's Joshua Smith and I, are busy with the 'day jobs' and new babies so eventually we'll get round to doing it!

Thanks for the support received since the site's launch in 2020. We're still keen for sponsors/advertisers to help with the running of the site, with your branding appearing prominently on some or all pages, so if you're interested, e-mail editor@derbyshirefootball.com.

Cheers,

Mark
