EMCL/FA Vase round-up - October 10/11

A round-up of the action involving Derbyshire's East Midlands Counties League sides as they played both league and FA Vase ties at the weekend:

There were mixed fortunes for those taking part in the FA Vase over the weekend.

Borrowash Victoria hosted Northern Counties East League side Skegness Town but were beaten 3-0.

However, there was better news for Shirebrook Town as they hosted EMCL rivals Ingles. Over 90 minutes the sides drew 1-1, Jacob France putting Town ahead before David Tuck levelled, but Shirebrook would go on to win the game 5-4 on penalties.

There was also joy for Belper United as their great start to the season continued on Sunday with Vase victory at home to Kimberley Miners Welfare. Richard Hanslow netted twice for United to send them through after Isaac Stones had put the visitors in front early on.

In league action, Heanor Town recovered from losing 3-1 to Dunkirk in midweek by beating Clifton All Whites 2-1 on Saturday, Nathan Benger and Lewis Weaver scoring either side of Alex Haughton's equaliser.

Earlier in the week, Belper United had overcome Clipstone 1-0 thanks to Oliver Simpson's strike, while Borrowash Victoria were defeated 3-0 at Eastwood Community.
