Derbyshire Ladies League round-up

The new Derbyshire Ladies League season is up and running.

In Division One, newly promoted Ilkeston Town Development came from behind to take the spoils at Draycott and Wirksworth got off to a winning start with a home win against Mickleover.

SK Vipers took three points away to AFC Mercia after coming out on top in a fixture that probably represents their longest away day and played between the other two sides that have come up from Division Two.

In Division Two, Chesterfield Inspire Blues recorded a win at home to Hilton and Matlock Town had a narrow win at home to Sleetmoor United.

Belper Town Development ended a 12 game losing streak in the League with a win at Castle Donington; their first win since April 2019.

There were hard landings for newcomers SK Vipers Reserves who scored one but conceded 12 against a Woodlands Reserves side bolstered by the inclusion of a sprinkling of first teamers, and for Stanton Ilkeston, who will take encouragement from the three they scored against Sandiacre Town, but still returned empty handed after conceding 8.
