Alfreton progress in FA Trophy as Bedford are forced to forfeit
Alfreton Town are into the third round of the FA Trophy after second round opponents Bedford Town were forced to forfeit the tie.
Bedford had reported a positive COVID-19 diagnosis within their ranks, forcing the initial postponement of the clubs' tie on Tuesday night.
It had been hoped the tie would be played this Saturday (19th) but Bedford have now confirmed more positive cases within their squad and management team and will now be unable to fulfil the tie.
As a result, Alfreton progress to instead host National League side King's Lynn Town in Saturday's third round tie with a 3pm kick-off at the Impact Arena.
