Alfreton complete a hat-trick of new signings

Alfreton Town have added three new players to their squad ahead of Saturday's visit of Spennymoor Town.

Midfielders Michael Williams and Alex Babos have joined winger Joe Stacey in signing for the Reds, the latter two having been unused substitutes in the FA Cup win at Coalville Town last weekend.

Williams, a central midfielder, was at Sheffield FC last season and has had spells at both Matlock Town and Ilkeston FC. He featured for the Gladiators against the Reds in the Derbyshire Senior Cup and scored 24 goals in 110 appearances for Matlock.

Babos came through the youth set up at Derby County and was a regular for the Rams U23s. He has featured for Spanish side Real Union on loan, before spending a month at FC United of Manchester during the 2019/20 season. He has also featured for Wales U21s, making his debut in a European Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein in July 2018.

Stacey, a versatile winger, had a four year spell across the pond in Virginia, United States, where he studied and played football under a scholarship programme at Bluefield College.

Before returning to England, Stacey spent almost three months playing for USL2 side Dalton Red Wolves in Tennessee.
